Expansion cards are components used to add functionalities to a device, for example a graphics card allows a computer to display content on a screen.

Expansion cards can be inserted in the expansion cards slots present in all devices, once added they provide the computer a new component with functions you can access using the [[api:component|Component API]]

There are 8 types of expansion cards in OpenComputers, Some of them with more than one tier:
